Happy Bastille by the way. It's like the 4th of July, but in France. The rest of the U.S doesn't care about it but in San Francisco we use it as an excuse to eat french food and drink french wine. Love it.
Day 2 Part 2 - A Major Breakthrough
I just got home from yoga and what I am about to tell you is something I hoped to be able to share by the end of my 40 days but never could I have imagined doing it on Day 2. I will start by telling you about my friend Hannah. She was my first Yoga Tree buddy and I met her at my first time trying out the studio. She was incredibly friendly and even explained to me certain key things about how the teacher likes the room set up. Tonight I saw Hannah after a long time and coincidentally ended up next to her in class. Our teacher went through a handstand demo, I sighed my usual sigh waiting to hear what "the rest of us" could do while the room did their thing. There was no alternative. You either did it or you didn't do it. Hannah said she was a great spotter and for some reason I trusted her. As I was ready to kick up the teacher called the room's attention, then she saw me, in a kick up position. She approached and said "Does she still have to do it?" and Hannah said "yes" and then I told her I had never before, but decided against giving her my whole speech about how it's a mental block and so on. She simply said "well you're doing it." And I did. My first handstand. Feet over hips over head over hands. Squeezing my arms and my legs. I stayed up there for a while. It was awesome. After that I could take over the world, I didn't, but I did go on to do a Pincha Mayurasana. Thanks Hannah and Stacey. Good Night Peeps.
