Day 6 - Tina

Yesterday afternoon I went to Pete Guinosso's class for the first time. Since he is leading the 40 days workshop I thought I should try it out. He said it was his "Happy Hour"class, after all it was friday and he would be playing his newly made "Summer Mix" very loudly throughout. The mix was awesome, more like the "Summer of 69 mix" (and in case you were wondering, that was one of the songs on it) but really, it encompassed great music, old and new, and it was bomb to do yoga to that. As we winded down, Tina Turner's "Whats Love got to do with it" came on. We were all in pigeon pose, with our foreheads to the floor, and I could hear the class of 43 sweaty and exhausted students shyly singing "what's love got to do, got to do with it, what's love, but a second hand emotion"... As we came out of the pose everyone laughed, it was hilarious! The girl next to me clearly loves this song as much I do and we both just kept singing to it through the next pose as well. This moment made me truly and unconditionally happy.

This morning I resisted sleeping in and I've already had my butt kicked by Lauren Slater's class, rewarded by a mani pedi after. I'm trying to re-introduce napping into my life so when I get up early I tell myself that I can always nap in the afternoon and that usually gets me going. I also did a 10min morning meditation to try and make up for my lack of discipline in that area in the past couple of days. Last night was nice and mellow, let's see how I do in da club at Bonobo tonight!
